[honestly, he does allow it for a moment, before his hand eventually brushes the cane away, grabbing the tip and forcing it aside, so that he can continue to approach.
I guess that's one way to look at it. Feel like there's probably people you could ask for tips, somehow.
[good, because now, he can definitely get right into his space-- cut an intimidating figure, even if his hands don't move to touch Raven directly. At least... not yet.]
[jay's taller than raven by a little, and standing right up in his space is... intimidating, yes, but thrilling more than anything. raven's eyes roam up and down jay's figure, and he tilts his chin up at him, defiant but pleased, his eyes almost glittering]
For all I enjoy my books, I'm not so foolish to deny the value in hands-on learning. Now... shall we begin? Rebel hero.
[there's no way jay can miss how raven's eyes widen and his breath catches when his back hits the wall, and then segues into a hungry grin, his tongue idly running over the front of his teeth]
That all depends... on you. Whether or not you can keep my attention.
[spoken as if he hasn't been cornered at all, like he's not even the least bit concerned]
[he recognizes bravado for what it is. his head inclines just slightly as he observes his face, how his expression changes. he lifts an eyebrow and leans in.]
[raven leans in as well, now just an inch or two away from jay's face, and he draws a single finger down jay's jawline. his breath ghosts over jay's chin as he speaks]
If that's what will put your mind at ease. Subdue the crazed megalomaniac, and your city will be safe... that's what you want, isn't it? On the surface, anyway.
That's one way to describe it. Though, be careful about how tightly you wanna tie yourself to the crazed megalomaniac bit.
[his hand reaches up, fingers wrapping around Raven's wrist. he pulls his hand away just slightly, his grip firm and strong. and then his lips close the distance-- aggressive, dominating. playing every bit the part in trying to subdue him.
ignoring the logic that would've otherwise replaced that with punching.]
[he doesn't resist the pulling, and he doesn't resist the kiss either. raven's cane clatters to the ground as he lets go and his hand finds purchase in jay's hair, holding the back of his head. a soft noise escapes him, like a sigh of sheer pleasure, and he kisses back with as much fervor as he can muster. he knows he can't stand up to jay, can't stop him from "subduing" him like this, so he'll gladly take his aggression and revel in it]

it would take more than that to dissuade him.]
Just play acting, for now?

You could call it... "role-playing". Have to get used to my role somehow.

Or read a book.

[because when he does move, it's definitely to push him back against the wall, his arms surrounding him, a half amused look on his face.]
So, I'm bigger, stronger... that mean you're gonna go for smarter, or crazier?

Not a logical answer, you know.
Leaning towards crazier, at this point.

Luckily for you, you're only sort of crazy. Not psychopathic.
Yet.
[his steel blue eyes are boring into Raven, studying him]

Lucky for me.
[raven's eyes are almost glittering in the darkness, his gaze sharp but almost playful as he looks up at him]
So, what are you going to do about it?
