I will, but do you want me to ruin such a lovely mood?
[a little teasing as well, running his faceted thumb over Izanagi's knuckles.]
This is a favorite of mine. From here it's nearly like being in the mountains, right, looking from above? And most don't disturb this place, since they don't wish to alarm the amaro.
[He manages to sigh it out, but it's not very convincing when he's still so clearly wrapped up in their new surroundings.
So of course he has to poke his head over the balcony to get a good look at the amaro too, which means taking back his hand long enough to brace himself against it and prop himself up.]
Whoa- do they have four wings?
[That's so weird?? But cool. Do they work like dragonfly wings, perhaps?
Once he's done being a mild danger to himself, he stands back on the balcony properly and catches Noah's hand again.]
Got to admit, it is a great view. But it can't be your only favorite place here, right?
[Noah valiantly resists the urge to be fussy enough to yank him back away from the edge, good grief.]
Mmhm. Amaro excel at flight for long distances, with wings like those. They are quite clever and loyal beasts.
[squeezing Izanagi's hand though, yes, good, a return to handholding!]
You want a tour? I should call you demanding, but really, there's no better time than now. I am sure you will enjoy the festivities.
[their balcony is on something of a watch-tower, though, so they'll have to take several sets of stairs down to even get to the level the amaro are inhabiting.]
[It's fine, he's got enough self-preservation not to fall off a balcony, even if he... doesn't always act like it.]
You weren't planning to just keep me up there without showing me the rest of the sights, were you? [How cruel! But once again he drops the act pretty quickly, because he's eager to see more.] What's the celebration for, anyway?
[Izanagi's not as fortunate, growing slightly pink at the words, but he presses on anyway. His bravado is one of the things he has going for him, after all.]
You can have me all to yourself later.
[#NailedIt]
The night? That's something to be celebrated here?
[yeah he's definitely way smoother in his sleep, the dork. but he's sobering a little, turning to look at the night sky wistfully.]
There... hadn't been one for a long time, here. Long enough that many had never ever seen it. But we have it back now, and it's here to stay.
[he's leading Izanagi indoors, away from the sounds of celebration, for the most part, down a great stone hallway to a fantastical garden suspended over a waterway, safely under a stone roof. the great purple tree actually has a big round hole built for it in that roof, and Izanagi may realize that this is nearly directly underneath their original position-- that tree was visible from their balcony, but with the bulk of it underground.]
[Understandably, because it's a sobering topic. Izanagi's eyes are on Noah as they walk, only looking away once they enter the garden with the glow of leaves and petals lighting the air. Idly, his mind provides a possible explanation of bio luminescence even if his attention is elsewhere.]
...What caused there to be no nights for so long?
[His mind is more geared towards the sciences of his own planet, where conditions such as smog are the most likely culprit, but...]
[Noah laughs softly. The mood was a LITTLE ruined but he gets by on momentum, continuing the change of subject as gracefully as he can.]
This is all my home. We built this city at the feet of my tower so it would fall under my protection, so 'tis all an extension of my home.
Where would you like to see next? The markets? The mean? No one is working right now, but many of the spots in this city are near and dear to my heart, and striking as well, if I do say so myself.
Hmm, I hear the coffee biscuits have been quite good lately. I for one am partial to the jellied harcots, and the pixie apple pies. And those are only desserts.
[he leads Izanagi back up that stone hallway, though, towards the sounds of merrymaking, past a great crystal. there are more and more people of all shapes and sizes celebrating as they pass, from amazonian rabbit women to beefy lion men to people with scales and more cat-eared individuals. the diversity is wild.]
[He's not familiar with the term offhand, just like he's definitely not familiar with all the different people populating this place. Lions and rabbits and lizards, oh my!
Luckily it's easy enough to mask his constant looking around as merely scanning the market's wares instead of people watching.]

[There's a very short pout, but he's teasing - he looks out over the balcony again almost immediately, smile back on his face.]
Mm. It's beautiful. Is this the view you usually have?

[he gestures with his free hand to the stables below, inhabited by strange, four-winged beasts of burden.]
But the view from the tower is the one I frequent most.

We're celebrating the night. The return of the darkness.

I will tell you, later. Another time. For now, let me show you my home?

So instead he smiles again, squeezing Noah's hand in return.]
So soon? Well, since you were already kind enough to show me the garden, I suppose it's alright ♪

How about the markets?

[casually confident, like this is an undeniable truth.]
To the markets, then. I imagine that's where they will have set up the food stalls, too, if you find yourself hungry.

Do you still have to eat here, at least?

I do, I do. I have to sleep too. It's all very inconvenient.

What about the other foods? Anything meatier?
oops animal crossing got me
[he nods agreeably, though!]
There are plenty of sausages, and mushroom skewers as well. Various rail preparations are also options, of course.
it's okay we're both casualties
I could go for sausage!
