[ she takes a step back toward jason. ] I'd be disappointed if I didn't. [ since she deals with something similar when she dares to sleep. offers him the switchblade. ] Is there an exit? Or should I make one?
[ and, ok, now she finds T H I S a little but funny, so don't mind her laughing too. ]
I'm a wild card. [ she digs her hand into her chest to rip out her heart weapon, giving it a flick to get one of the blades to pop out. ]
Let's go. Follow me. [ she keeps her gaze forward and ignores the bodies, especially the boy!, and marches onward toward the nearest wall. ] If he refuses to let move on, then I'll just have to carve out the path, so you can.
[as they move towards the entrance-- it's there that the joker greets them. A man with plaster white skin, green hair, and a purple suit. But none of that compares to the off kilter smile he wears on his face.]
"Do you really think that'll work? We're tied together, you know. My greatest joke? Well, one of my great early hits, hahaha."
[it's then that a bang rings out behind her-- where Jason got that gun is a mystery but-- the bullet hole through the Joker's head speaks plenty about what he thinks about that.
but rather than going away, the laughter echoes loudly for a moment, before dying down.]
[ she flinches, staring down the joker as blood starts oozing out of the hole in the center of his head. that's not something she'd been expecting, so she'll just be gaping a bit, though at some point she turns to jason. ] ...yeah, definitely. [ ... ] But for a bit isn't really reassuring. If we, like, cut him up to bits do you think that'll help him take longer to come back or something?
It's effectiveness depends on the relationships between opponents, so the more you hate you adversary the more effective it'll be. If you want to try, Jay, now's the time... unless you'd like me to do it. My feelings might not be nearly as strong as yours, but he's hurt you and that is not okay.
[he takes the heart weapon-- and he glances at the Joker, his look distant.]
Too bad it can't wipe him from existence.
[there's background sounds now-- another memory? this time it's Jason asking a familiar laughing voice, "Which hurts worse? This..." a loud sound of metal striking bone. "Or this...?" another slam.
and then he points the weapon at the Joker's body.]
I think that'd be too easy, and this place just likes making our lives more difficult.
[ as soon as the other memory?? starts up she looks confused, and she tries to find the source of it, but she gets the feeling the distraction is nothing but. stupid joker. this is probably ( somehow ) his fault. ]
[ she takes the weapon back and doesn't spare the eviscerated mess even a glance. instead, she's just going to reach for jay's arm and tug him over to her. ] I'm sorry you have to deal with this sorta crap each night. [ but... she doesn't want to dwell on that, and instead just hopes they can get a little bit further before the joker inevitably comes back. ]
If you'd ever like to, IDK, come over to Heart, we could totally just do stuff until we pass out or something. I'm kind of in a similar-ish boar, and I usually just run myself ragged until I have to sleep, because sleeping isn't as, uh, rewarding and pleasant as it used to. I got plenty to keep us busy. [ games and stuff. ] Or since you like jumping off stuff [ nudges him. ] we could always run around town.
How about some company then? I don't normally run around so much as drive around, but I bet I could give you a run for your money and, hey, maybe I could help tire you out.
[ smirks. ] I'll run you ragged, Jay. [ believeit. ]
[ she's going to pick up the pace and ready her scythe as they reach the edge of the warehouse, because door or not, she'll be making one. screw you, rules! ]
but the door is there! it's just locked. the lock's a simple metal one-- should be easy enough to break, if they're like they are. not a beaten to death boy and his mom.]
[ and there might be a door, but she's kind of hesitant to take it... so instead of breaking the lock on the door she's just going to use her scythe to cut a hole into the wall a few feet to the left of it. this is... safer, probably. a bit dumber, but shhhh. ]
I'm my own basis, but good to know. [ smirks. ] At least I know kind of what to assume~
[this totally works as for making a door! But kind of hard to see what they're about to walk into...
Just kidding.
it's a nightmare. They're walking into the moments just before the boy and his mother were killed. Where the Joker is taking a crowbar to his head, giggling as he asks him which hurts worse, while the boy keeps up a-- very familiar bravado.
Whatever Jason was about to say, dies on his lips.]
[ she freezes and just... sees red. it takes all of her power not to just let it overtake her, but before she realizes it she's running forward with her scythe clenched tightly. ]
Leave them alone you twisted fuck! [ she's not sure if she's going to be able to interfere and make a difference, but she's absolutely going to try. ]

... You know what, there's not. But-- you're a complication. Maybe there can be.

And just what does that mean?
[ she can think of one potentially dangerous thing,
like if she hurts this psycho, then it'll hurt jason, which she wants to avoid, but... ]

That'll shut him up for a bit.

This is normally enough to wake up.

... It was gonna happen, eventually. Don't worry about it. Let's just-- figure out which way leads to waking up.
[but now it's eerily, unsettlingly quiet.]

You said you normally wake up by this point, right, so... [ heading it may not matter which direction they head in, hm. ]

[he sighs.]
Sleep's been difficult.
