[Some of her tension starts to ease, and as soon as she has the slack to do it, she raises her hand to touch his chest lightly, where his tattoos seem to be moving.]
My familiars. My power. What I was capable of... before.
[the tattoos on his arms shift outward, disappearing from his skin entirely, forming a very large black panther that curls up next to raven and starts purring. he pets it]
Sometimes they were the only things keeping me alive. Especially among a ruined city, ravaged by demons...
[the rest of the tattoos slide off of him and disappear into shadows--as does the black of his hair, slithering off of him like ink. his hair underneath is white, the same shade as dante's, and nero's, and vergil's]
[She lifts her hand to touch his hair, running her finger through a strand, quiet for a few moments before she responds.]
...Having power is important. It's how you accomplish things, and it's... comforting, to know you're able to do something. And they're familiar to you, so it makes sense you miss them.
But it's not the only thing that makes someone strong. Power is pointless if you don't have the determination to use it right. And even if you're powerless, if you have the conviction you can find power again.

...It seems...
[she searches for a word]
...nice. To have them.

... I know. I am not... powerless, even now. It just... feels like it, sometimes.

Yeah. It does.
