That's a little much. I just wanted to know why you guessed it was her when there are a lot of people here.

The reason is threefold:

1) I do not know many people yet, so the pool of who I could guess is rather limited.
2) Out of everyone I know, the typing style and the enthusiastic response itself seemed characteristic of Lily.
3) I wanted to speak with her.

I would be in trouble either way. I have no capacity for either inflicting or enduring violence, and I fully understand that I would likely be among the first victims in such a game. To tell you the truth, I rather dread it, but there is nothing I can do about it. But Alexander agreed to help me with the nightmares, so I can at least have some semblance of peace of mind.

It's simply the truth. What would I have to gain by pretending to be strong when I have nothing to back it up with? It would be simply a mask to hide my fear behind, one that would crumble as soon as I am forced to participate. I would like to think I am at least more honest than that.

There's a lot of things to gain. There's no chance you'll improve or do any better than you expect unless you act like there's a chance. And bluffing can be a strategy that could save your life by itself.

That is sound advice, and I thank you for it. :) At the same time, I fear I do not have it in me to be able to lie like that, at the very least at this moment. It may indeed change as time goes on, but there is no other way but wait and see.

To tell the truth I am not too scared of losing my life, as it appears we cannot truly die here, but I did receive a lecture on the effects my death might have on those who love me. On the other hand, I do not know how much such allegiances would mean in a game.

Most of the time games are picking the best of bad choices. That doesn't mean the choice doesn't matter, and it doesn't mean people aren't still upset about the result.

And just because it hasn't been permanent so far doesn't mean you should take death lightly even yourself.
