The first thing to understand, of course, is that all things deserve to be loved. Beyond this, there is no amount of love anyone is deserving or undeserving of. And because of this, love is a beautiful and sacred thing. It underpins everything we think, say, and do. It is a boundless web, which connects all things and forms the very fabric of reality. Without love, there is no life, and therefore no death. Without love, there is nothing.

And that means to reject someone's love, you are consigning some part of them to oblivion: the part of them that cares for you so deeply. But this is a painful thing! After all, they themselves have not been cast into the void, and so they must live knowing some part of them will always go unfulfilled. If you are not yourself hateful and selfish, this leaves you with two options: you repay your debts and love them in kind, granting them the mercy of death...or you accept that someone, somewhere, keeps you in their mind so that you do not slip between the cracks of reality, for that is all love is. An anchor. There is, I suppose, a third choice in there: to cut your line and face annihilation, but those who love you will seldom allow this: they either want you here or they want to end you themselves.

So, to accept it, what must be done? I should note here that to accept one's love does not mean to give in to it. Whatever they wish to do with their love, whatever effect they want their love to have on you? You do not need to let this happen. But you do need to understand that there is nothing to be done once someone holds you in such regard. Even making them hate you...well, that's just a different sort of love, and it will always come full circle to the sort of love you're afraid to receive. Love, therefore, is an inevitability, and if you are scared of it, there is only one thing that can be done. The same thing we do when we face death or the cruelty of life with fear in our hearts. When faced with the inescapable, we beg, we plead, we pray.

We cry.

We cry, and fear leaves us.

We cry, and we find the strength to stand.

We cry, and this moves us forward for however long it takes to find our happiness. So, the next time someone reveals to you their love? Bite back every other reaction you may have. Here is what you do.
