Try to narrow the scope a little.

Who, apart from yourself, do you want to know more about FIRST? Since it's impossible to get everything on everyone all at once.

Hmmm... I would say Cardinal, but at the same time I think it would be more respectful of me to ask them directly. I wish to be their friend, and asking strangers for information that Cardinal may not be comfortable sharing with me yet sounds rude at best. My answer was the simple truth to the question of who I wish to get to know, not a request for being granted such knowledge without their consent.

I think they mean to ask “all things being equal, who would it excite you to know about first” rather than offering information, so you don’t have anything to worry about with your answers—but that’s very considerate of you!
