ok here's a few quick tips

there's a couple of reasons why i like knives in particular: it's a fairly efficient method to kill someone fast that's also very personal and close range. plus there's a symbolic value to getting their blood all over you in the process

more indirect methods can be a lot more effective and cause less trouble for you but it may be less satisfying if you don't get to do it with your own hands. i don't think that's honestly a super important factor because just getting them dead is the first priority anyway but it's something to consider

you might also want to take into account if you want it to be particularly painful or humiliating or whatever? personally i don't care for that but different strokes and all that. so in addition to the actual murder maybe you want to go for some torture beforehand. or combine torture and murder by making them die of starvation of something, that's a bad way to go. on the faster side of things fire is probably the most painful option
