[ his tone is plainly teasing. ]

[...actually you know what it's all fun and games until you remember you have trauma. Levity's expression grows more serious, his breathing deepening - under control, he can ride this out, but it's a dangerous edge.]

[ quickly he realizes his mistake, and then he seems to backtrack; ]

My apologies. That was merely a joke -- you've more than earned it from me.

[HOW ABOUT YOU THINK BEFORE OPENING YOUR HELL MOUTH

But Levity does smile, reassured, leaning down to press a quick kiss to the aforementioned hell mouth.]

...Thank you. But to answer in kind... Given your preference for pain, I'd say I've done quite enough on that front, no?

[ he tips his head up to make that kiss easier, all smiles again ]

Have you grown bored, perhaps?

[Cute... He brings up the knife again, to Absinthe's face this time, to trace out a shallow cut from his temple down the side of his face - not deep enough to do anything but draw blood.]

And what would you do if I say I have?

[ he seems to feel that -- with a soft hiss, and then a low laugh ]

I'd worry that I was not being entertaining enough for your tastes.

[Now that reaction is fun! It's both subtle and obvious how much Levity's interest is instantly drawn; he traces the new cut with his fingers, pulling at the skin just a bit to make it sting.]

Mm... I don't think that's possible. You're a very fascinating man, and... I do want to learn more about you.

[In contrast to the situation - or perhaps in the spirit of it, depending on your point of view, - his voice is very fond and genuine.]

[ the ichor is icky, and his eyebrows furrow as the skin is tugged -- it seems he's letting himself feel pain but he's not objecting to it, certainly, letting his breath come out as an exhale. ]

And I only wish to indulge in that curiosity. It's owed to you, is it not?

[Absinthe is cute like this, actually? Levity smiles, leaning down to give him another kiss - and one of his hands tangles itself in Absinthe's hair, making him turn his head to the side and expose more of his neck.]

...You're sweet. Though unfortunately not literally, hmmm?

[He's proud of his bad joke! And keeping that curious smile as he draws the edge of the knife down along Absinthe's neck, to the shoulder - and here he presses it in deeper, now that it's over the muscle rather than any vitally important organs.]

[ there's a hum of laughter, vibrations going through his throat as he tips his head back and helps with getting more of that exposed for Levity's mouth.

there's an evident strain to his breath in as the knife pushes in to his shoulder, a tenseness that briefly slows the path of the blade before he relaxes. ]

I can conjure sugar if you would like.

[weenwoon]

[That catches him off-guard enough that Levity stops what he's doing, laughing against Absinthe's shoulder.]

I believe there is a way of serving absinthe involving sugar, yes. I do wonder how much it would do for the taste of your blood, however.
