[ they shiver at that, the grip on the knife loosening ]

Well - - I'm used to lookin' good, so it's a bit of a change.

[ he doesn't move his hand further than that for the moment, stroking at their nape before sliding his hand back up to rake fingertips through their hair. ]

Yeah? That just means you've been waiting for an excuse, doesn't it?

[ he laughs - - ]

So - - you want to take things slow?

[notadrop]

I mean you just tazed me and then stabbed me at least three times. So I figured that.

[ he takes a grip in their hair, gently trying to tip their head up - - if they allow that he'll try to angle his head in for a kiss. ]

[ they suck in a breath at the grip, allowing him to tip their head and kiss them - tentatively they drop both their hands: one to press the flat of the knife against his chest, and the other to rest at his side, sort of restlessly. they don't really kiss back, though it's fairly clearly out of not really knowing what to do here. ]

[devilmightcare]

[ he moves a hand to rest it at the small of their back - - not any further, right now - - and angles his head to deepen the kiss, steady, his breath exhaling through his nostrils when he feels the flat of the knife against him again. ]

[ they finally get the flow of things when he deepens the kiss, leaning up into it and whining softly. ]

[devilmightcare]

[ he breaks the kiss after hearing that - - but only to breathe out his words against their lips: ]

Cute. That sound you made just now.

[notadrop]

[ that gets him a stiffening of Ruby's tail, a squeak, and a deep blush all at once - for the first time this night they seem actually taken off guard, pushing him back with the knife still flat against him and looking off to the side. ]

I-It was like, whatever! Don't make this weird, dude.

It's been weird since the start, hasn't it?

[ he smiles, and reaches down to curiously touch the tip of their tail. ]
