Zombies, as they are colloquially known. We didn't have anything quite as ghastly in my home.

[ his insides are blackened, gunked up with the ichor. ]

[GROSS... Levity frowns a little at seeing that, alright let's not go there. This was supposed to be sexy knifeplay. He withdraws the blade, bringing it up instead to press it against Absinthe's chin, tipping it up a little.]

But I assume you still had ghastly things?

[ he laughs (which probably looks gross seeing the organs move as he does so) and tips his head up a bit, but not fully away from the knife. ]

Oh, of course. Daemons take all sorts of shapes.

[It is gross, but unfortunately scientific curiousity is still real. Levity finds his eyes flickering down briefly; sometimes you just want to slice a dude open and look at his guts, it happens.

Absinthe leaning away a bit is cute, though! He follows the movement with the blade - there is something exciting about this. Just a little threat, as a treat?]

[ it happens! all for science. of course. his head doesn't tilt up then -- he keeps it in place, with a thoughtful hum that vibrates against the blade.

a few feet away from them a black flan oozes into existence, crawling slickly in a circle. ]

[Levity stares at the thing, eyebrows raised. That's the cubus, everyone loves the cubus. Back in the days of PARADISE everyone loved getting attacked by cubuses on the street every day and it was an enjoyable part of all of our days.]

...Hmm. From the name I expected something more... dignified, like Vergil's demon form.

[Disappointed! He wanted to see a hot monster!]

[Sorry he doesnt think ur sexy puddle :'( The necromancer certainly gets Levity's approval, though, as he looks up at the floating figure with interest. He doesn't seem scared, at least?]

Oh, this is reminiscent of Vergil's world, indeed! Though I have not met too many of its creatures.

We were speaking of ghastly things -- I did not realize you wanted something more dignified.

[ there's floating skulls around it that light up with a spooooky ephemeral flame. ]

I would imagine this is still considered ghastly by mortal standards.

[Spooky........ or pretty? Levity smiles, reaching out towards one of the skulls. This is fine?]

[ his eyebrows raise -- though it should probably hurt a lot more than it does, it's more like touching a candle's flame than anything. ]

It is, still, but does it not have a beauty to it?

[Levity hisses at getting his fingers burnt by Spooky Fucked Up Ghost Flames and immediately sticks them in his mouth. Good ideas only in here!! Give him a moment before he can speak again.]

It does. There is a certain elegance, if a grim one.

You could have made it so that I didn't get hurt in the first place.

[His tone is mock-chiding, though, as he presses his burnt fingers to Absinthe's lips.]

literally. when he kisses the fingertips the burns disappear entirely, not even scars left in their wake ]

What lesson would you have learned then?

Well, the lesson I learned from this is that I can just have you pamper me.

[Is this flirting. Like they're in a horny dream but is this flirting.]

[ it's normal to flirt when your organs are just like, in full view. it's very intimate ]

[It's cute times!! And with how much Levity is convinced this is Just A Dream means that he doesn't need to worry about going ham or just being weird. He leans down to practically lie down on top of Absinthe (yes, gross ichor and all), resting an elbow on the other man's chest and propping his chin on his hand.]

[ there's not even a wince; there is a bit of a shit-eating smile, keeping his own arms bound for now as much as the urge strikes him to reach up. ]

Well, I wonder if you have earned it.

[ his tone is plainly teasing. ]

[...actually you know what it's all fun and games until you remember you have trauma. Levity's expression grows more serious, his breathing deepening - under control, he can ride this out, but it's a dangerous edge.]

[ quickly he realizes his mistake, and then he seems to backtrack; ]

My apologies. That was merely a joke -- you've more than earned it from me.

But Levity does smile, reassured, leaning down to press a quick kiss to the aforementioned hell mouth.]

...Thank you. But to answer in kind... Given your preference for pain, I'd say I've done quite enough on that front, no?

[ he tips his head up to make that kiss easier, all smiles again ]

[Cute... He brings up the knife again, to Absinthe's face this time, to trace out a shallow cut from his temple down the side of his face - not deep enough to do anything but draw blood.]
